Just when you thought you were bored with Zoom calls, we have something new and exciting for you…pigs, cows, and alpacas! The Fulbright Association-GLA Chapter is hosting a virtual visit with Sweet Farm, a nonprofit animal sanctuary in Half Moon Bay, California, on Saturday, August 8 at 12pm. The visit will last 30 minutes, and then we’ll stick around for an additional 30 minutes of discussion time.

Sweet Farm is the first non-profit sanctuary in the world to address the global impacts of factory farming across animals, the plants, and the planet. The organization began offering virtual farm visits (“Goat-2-Meeting”) at the start of the pandemic to compensate for lost visitor revenue; the initiative was so popular that Sweet Farm ended up partnering with sanctuaries around the country to be able to fulfill demand for virtual visits. Our donation for this event goes directly to Sweet Farm to help them care for the animals.

Sweet Farm is home to cows, horses, pigs, llamas, alpacas, turkeys, chickens, and goats. They will join the call promptly at 12pm to provide a brief history of the organization and will then introduce us to all of the animals available that day.

We hope you can join us for what is sure to be a fun event! Everyone is welcome to invite their partners and children to join them on the call. If you plan to attend, please register for the event using this linkhttps://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUsde-spj4qGtx1_jqqjdwvW7XAEdWHx-BS.
