Fulbright Greater Los Angeles continued its Fulbrighters Hosting Fulbrighters series with a special Easter gathering hosted by Aaron and Amanda Kleist. The event brought together more than 40 Fulbrighters, visiting scholars, and community members for an afternoon of shared food, conversation, and connection.
This installment marked the most highly attended event in the series to date, drawing participants from across the Greater Los Angeles region. Designed to support Fulbrighters who may not have family nearby or who are seeking community, the gathering provided a welcoming home environment where attendees could connect across disciplines, cultures, and exchange experiences.
The afternoon was defined by lively, sustained conversation and a strong sense of belonging. Guests shared stories from their Fulbright journeys, exchanged ideas and expertise, and built meaningful relationships in an informal setting. As conversations flowed throughout the four-hour gathering, participants reflected the core spirit of the Fulbright Program: curiosity, openness, and cross-cultural engagement.
Events like Fulbrighters Hosting Fulbrighters play an important role in strengthening the local Fulbright network by addressing the isolation that many alumni and visiting scholars can experience after their programs. By creating intentional spaces for connection, the series helps foster a sense of community and continuity within the Fulbright experience.
Fulbright Greater Los Angeles looks forward to expanding this initiative and encourages alumni interested in hosting future gatherings to participate in upcoming opportunities. Fulbright Greater Los Angeles extends its sincere appreciation to Aaron and Amanda Kleist for their generous hospitality and for exemplifying the spirit of community and cultural exchange that defines the Fulbrighters Hosting Fulbrighters series.
