Fulbright Greater Los Angeles continued its longstanding commitment to the national Fulbright in the Classroom program with a visit to Camino Nuevo Charter Academy: Kayne-Siart, engaging Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) students in an interactive panel discussion with former Fulbrighters.
During the session, alumni shared their Fulbright experiences in the Philippines, Japan, Finland, Germany, and Indonesia, offering students a window into international study, research, and cultural exchange. Students actively participated by learning words in different languages, asking thoughtful questions, and engaging in discussion about life abroad and the pathways that led alumni to their Fulbright awards.
The goal of the event was to plant a seed of possibility: introducing students in a high-need community to the Fulbright program and demonstrating how education, curiosity, and dedication can open doors to global opportunities. The event successfully fostered enthusiasm, dialogue, and aspiration, reinforcing the idea that students’ passions can quite literally take them anywhere.
