Fulbright Global Day of Service is Coming: Join Us on August 1!

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Fulbright Program, and Fulbright alumni around the world will celebrate this milestone by coming together for the Fulbright Association Global Day of Service on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

The Global Day of Service is a worldwide initiative that brings Fulbright alumni, chapters, community partners, and friends together to put the values of the Fulbright Program into action through meaningful service in their local communities. It is an opportunity to celebrate not only 80 years of international exchange, but also the shared commitment to mutual understanding, civic engagement, and global citizenship that defines the Fulbright community.

The Fulbright Greater Los Angeles Chapter is proud to participate in this global effort and is planning two local volunteer opportunities for members and friends:

• Hope the Mission – Join us in addressing food insecurity by supporting meal preparation and outreach for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
• Pathways LA Back-to-School Community Fair – Help welcome local families as they prepare for the new school year through a community resource and school readiness event.

Whether you’ve been involved with Fulbright for decades or are new to the chapter, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating Fulbright’s 80th anniversary by giving back to our local community. Together, we can demonstrate how the Fulbright spirit extends beyond international exchange and into service that strengthens communities here at home.
